"The Uniquitous Mr. Lovegrove" by Dead Can Dance

Tuesday: My winter break, for as long as I have been going to college, horrifically long. This is great though, unless you keep getting bombarded with storms and have snow preventing you from going out and enjoying the free time you have. Classes also always start around my birthday, either before or after. This semester I scheduled classes for Tuesday/Thursday again which makes me not start until February 1st. I have my birthday all planned out for Saturday since I can’t celebrate on Sunday due to people starting class or having work. I am hoping it doesn’t snow and destroy my plans with people traveling.

As for my school schedule I still have that God awful 6 hour gap which will resort in me going home and coming back. I am not working this semester and don’t feel like staying there for 6 hours waiting doing nothing. Especially when I have a film class in the morning. It’s not like I can say oh let me go study for 4 hours and then get something to eat before class. So home then back… which will be expensive so I am going to have to just get a monthly or something to pay for transportation.

The days where I was able to actually go venture out I was gathering information from the local galleries in hopes of having another show. My last one was in 05 and just really hoping to have another. If the owner of the previous place was still the same person it would make my life easier, but its not. The new guy there is an asshat and I refuse to even try to do anything there because the venue is a ghost town when they are open. I had put off applying to the gallery that is owned by my tattoo artist just because I didn’t have a digital portfolio at the time. After recently having work done on my arm I spoke with one of the people that are curating and they gave me the information to email in. I did and pretty much was told that they only are showing paintings right now, not anything digital. I paid the gallery a visit to talk to Craig and to find out if he saw my work. I spoke to him previously and he told me to send my work in. He saw it and said the same thing the email said, just nicer. Or I should say I felt he was nicer about it. Maybe I showed initiative that I was interested in the gallery by stopping by instead of just leaving it at that email. He told me to check out the gallery in a year or so, and that maybe then they will have accepted digital work. I went to another gallery that I had been looking at for a while to find out what their rules were. Pretty much I need to join some artists coalition? I feel like it’s a group of angry artists that sit around and talk about how amazing they are. The guy in there asked for my information to put in this book and pointed out that there is a main gallery they have that is better than the little one I was in. I don’t know if it is, I am just going by what he said and how amazing he made it sound. He also told me about other local coffee places that would feature art work by local artists. I knew one of them which was a small place that Vanessa and I were going to randomly when we were reconnecting. This made me think of making business cards, though I already have ones from my last show. They aren’t anything overly fancy but do have a small drawing of mine on the card. I feel like I should probably use them up since they do have most of my information on the card. If I made new ones I found a site that I could make them and they would be in color which I think would be pretty cool.

I feel like I have to use the ones my mother made me just out of respect to her, well she printed them, I made them really.
